Independent Booksellers' Week

Independent Booksellers' Week, a celebration of independent bookselling, takes place for the second time from 15th to 22nd June 2009 and features a wide variety of events including:

Strictly Come Bookselling
Authors participating in job swaps at their local bookshop
Storytelling
Events run by local booksellers, authors and teachers
Reading Groups
Local reading groups wil be coordingating their activities during the week.
Themed Promotions
Look out for special offers within your local bookshop during the week.

Independent Booksellers' Book Prize

Love Your Local Bookshop kicked off with the Independent Booksellers' Book of the Year Award. Independent booksellers created two shortlists - one adult and one children's - for the public to vote on. Voting is open throughout the summer, and the winners of the Book Prize will be anounced in early September.
