Independent Booksellers' Book of the Year

Love Your Local Bookshop kicked off on October 10th 2007 with the Independent Booksellers' Book of the Year Award. Independent booksellers created two shortlists - one adult and one children's - for the public to vote on. The closing date for the voting was the 10th December and the winners were announced on the 17th December as Suite Franciase by Irene Nemirovsky for the Adult section, and Alone on a Wide Wide Sea by Michael Morpurgo for the Chidren's category.
